It was three short years ago that 29 Pixel Studios started making documentary films for Army University Press. In that time, we have created a dozen feature length films. Just a couple weeks ago one of our films past 1 million views!
In the first meetings with Army University Press, I remember asking what I ask all my clients, “What does success for this project look like?”
This film was not exactly about World War II, not exactly about Germany versus the Soviet Union, not even about Stalingrad. The movie we were initially brought in to do was about a single building in Stalingrad.
“These films are so niche, they most likely will not get a lot of views.” – Nick
Well, Nick was wrong.
It is not a measure of success! Buuuuuuut, it is one heck of a milestone. We thought we were pretty slick when we past 100,000 views!
The moment our total views of all the films we had released crossed 1 million, we talked about the day when a single film does that on it’s own.
Stalingrad: The Campaign, 29 Pixel Studios’ second film was uploaded by Army University Press, and then The Army proper uploaded it. On The Army’s YouTube channel is where it’s crossed into seven digits!
This film was 29 Pixel Studios second film, but it was the first film that Andrew and Adam worked on. Both should be incredibly proud of this milestone.
Oh, and Andrew…
Congratulations in advance on Defense of the Philippines crossing 1 million views! Yes, that is correct. Two of our films are crossing the 1 million mark within a few weeks of each other!
We are so very lucky to work on the projects we work on. Our output has slowed down in 2021, but we have not slowed down working! Two new films are VERY close to release and we can’t wait for that day!
